Igor Kholopov graduated from Moscow Ippolitov-Ivanov Musical Academy, class of Professor Efrem Podgaits (composition) and Igor Kadomtsev (orchestration). He was a winner of the International Antonin Dvořák Composers Competition. Since 2016 he has served as professor of compositionon and orchestration on the faculty of the Ippolitov-Ivanov Musical Academy. He is the author of the operas The Lesson (Open Stage, 2014), Krylov’s Fables, or the Zoopera (in the repertoire of the Children’s Musical Theater named after N. Sats, 2019), The Journey of the Blue Arrow (Laboratory “KoOPERAtion”, concert Hall “Zaryadye”, 2019), symphonic, chamber and choral music, film music.
